Beautiful words don't just sound beautiful, some roll off the tongue with ease, some hit the air in sharp tones while others stretch out as you meander over syllables and roll certain letters. Some words evoke images and feelings as much as meaning.

ganache - a rich chocolate confection made from semisweet chocolate and cream, often used as a cake icing.

Machiavellian - characterised by subtle or unscrupulous cunning; wily; astute

inamorata - a female lover; a woman who loves or is loved.

luxurious - characterised by luxury; ministering or conducing to luxury: a luxurious hotel

serenade - a complimentary performance of vocal or instrumental music in the open air at night, as by a man under the window of his lover.

accoutrement - equipage; trappings.

"Strawberry milk" are beautiful words. Reminds me of the days when the milkman delivered milk in glass bottles with foil caps. A simple and less complicated life. A slowburn childhood sprinkled with simple pleasures. Sipping spoonfuls of sugary sweetness. Spellbound by the tasting process. Then the feeling you get on reaching the pink sugary cyrstalised syrup floating around the rim of your favourite cu

My childhood memory was milk delivered in a horse-drawn cart with a bulk milk container. We left out a milk jug to get our milk and the delivered milk was kept cool in our drip safe.

Expunge is one of my favourite words. Not a beautiful word, but it's so powerful - that something can be got rid of and never to come back to haunt you.

JRR Tolkien said 'cellar door' had a beautiful sound ... of course, that's two words. But I love 'celadon' with a similar sound.
